Ciao,

After spending some wonderful time with family, we're now making our way back to Trieste. It always feels a little strange returning home after being away. Maria and I won't be unpacking for long, though; next week we'll be heading south again. Southern Italy has a habit of calling us back, and somehow we never seem able to resist.

William, meanwhile, has his hands full at university, so he'll be staying in Trieste while Maria and I go exploring once again. We keep telling him he's welcome to join us... but university tends to have other ideas!

Bevagna: medieval streets, beautiful piazzas, excellent food, and very few crowds—it captures so much of what I love about Italy. If you're visiting Italy, don't rush past it, take a detour if needed.
