Vist Asolo Once & You Never Leave Entirely
The first time I visited Asolo, I felt an almost immediate sense of peace. Nestled among the hills of Veneto, it has long attracted artists, poets, and writers looking for inspiration. Many tourists rush to Lake Como, but if you ask Maria and me, Lake Orta is one of Italy's true treasures. We've spent many weekends there over the years, and somehow it never loses its magic. The beautiful island of San Giulio sits quietly in the middle of the lake, while the lakeside town of Orta San Giulio feels wonderfully untouched by mass tourism. Whether you visit in spring when flowers are blooming, autumn when the hills turn golden, or even in winter when mist drifts across the water, Lake Orta has a way of slowing life down and reminding you to enjoy the moment. A City with Secrets Beneath Its Streets
Perugia is layered like few places I've ever visited. Above ground, you'll find elegant piazzas, medieval streets, and lively cafés filled with students. Below ground lies the remarkable Rocca Paolina, where you can walk through the remains of an older city buried beneath the streets above. Add chocolate, wonderful views across Umbria, and a fascinating history, and you have one of central Italy's most rewarding destinations.
