The Best Books On Piedmont

lake-antrona-piedmont-pix.jpg

I have selected some superb books on Piedmont. Books I really love.

These are books that should be read equally by those who have never been to Piedmont and by those who love this region as much as I do.

They passionately evoke the extraordinary beauty of Piedmont.

A Passion for Piedmont: Italy's Most Glorious Regional Table

This book is great, after reading it, one of my Australian site visitors fell so in love with Piedmont that they have now visited twice and are hoping to live there one day. Not much I can add to that really, if a book can have such an effect it must be excellent.

Touring in Wine Country -  Northwest Italy

A comprehensive guide to Piedmont covering everything from where to stay through to where to eat and full of fascinating things to do. There are a lot of wonderful little places, far off the beaten track, that would be almost impossible to discover by yourself. The guide is quite old now, but it is still relevant. - things change very slowly in Piedmont.

Autumn in Piemonte: Food and Travels in Italy's Northwest

Autumn in Piemonte Book Cover

An absolutely beautiful book, the author is both poet and cook, brilliantly evoking atmosphere and sharing Piedmont's great recipes and food. The photos are exceptional and together with the passionate writing of the author they will have you longing to follow in her footsteps. I particularly loved the chapters on the Langhe and the one on the Gourmet University which must surely be unique. My favourite of this selection of books on Piedmont.
