I know this isn't 5 stars but I really like this 4 star hotel. Venice is very expensive and perhaps if I could afford a 5 star hotel in Venice I would stay in one.
Who knows maybe I will win the lottery one day! Until then this hotel is pretty near perfect and as good as, or better, than many luxury five star hotels.
Everything is nearby and the St Marks square is only a little way off and an easy walk. The rooms are very big, especially for Italy, with tons of space and nicely furnished. They also had a free computer to use which was a nice touch and something I hadn't seen before.
Do yourself a favour and ask for a room with a view. They cost a little more but it is well worth it because the view of Venice is something you sure ain't going to match when you get home.
Plenty of restaurants within a stones throw of the hotel, some good and some not so good. In my humble view the best 4 star hotel Venice can offer.

Andrew's reply: The Liassidi Palace Hotel does have a great reputation. You are not the first person to tell me what a wonderful hotel it is. That photo of breakfast at the hotel, alongside the canal, is so beautiful - you made me long to be there right this moment :-)
By the way, my wife Maria has put together a list of the three or four luxury hotels in Venice we can highly recommend.
Perhaps you could give one of these hotels a try next time you visit Venice and please do let me know if you agree with us.

There are hill towns in Tuscany where life goes on as it always has, where few tourists venture. Yet this Tuscany enchants as much as the other and maybe more?
